I’m not one that likes to take time with my books. You really need to read for a bit to see how the characters develop and see what secrets slowly reveal themselves. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t one of those books that make you want to keep on reading to see what happens next. Father Colin is quite thoughtful while Beth and Meg, her two girls and Rhys and Rory, the twin boys are kind, clever and muddy. The Bird’s family cottage is filled with children’s drawing and brick-a-brack. It is a domestic suspense that involves a suicide pact in a family home full of young children.įast forward to the present day and a surprise inheritance is revealed with more slippery plots, a mysterious death, and multiple storylines. The Birds is a family lives a life that many families could only admire in the Cotswold. If you like literary fiction with some suspense and mystery, you’ll like this book.
