I wish people would learn to be more skeptical about what they read, and do at least some remedial fact checking before blindly recirculating the garbage. A lot of it starts on Facebook and Twitter, and is abused by people from the President on down. It used to be mainly just an AOL disease, and was somewhat isolated because AOL users didn't know about the internet at large, but now it spreads everywhere. It really illustrates the dirty underbelly of social media, and how so many people repost things without any thought as to whether it's true. A lot of the story was about social media, and a campaign of "fake news" against Gamache, claiming he was evil and incompetent, with doctored videos to document his crimes. There was a lot going on in this one, and not everything was really tied together.
